FFMH-Y201 Pandora

Having created the SXP series Mobile Suites, I needed to create a home for them. Enter the Pandora: ZAFT's newest transport ship and successor to the Eternal.

This ship has several main features: for starters, it can deploy Mobile Suites to the fore and aft. It also features an N-Jammer based power core and can thus perform above most standards for a ship its size. Most importantly, the bow of the ship features a built in cannon that links directly to its power core. The resulting blast is comparable in power to a Neutron Stampeder, though not nearly so wide a range.

There is, of course, a price for this power. After firing a blast, the Pandora has to enter a safety state for at least six hours, and the temperature of the ship rises extremely. The cannon system, along with the extended linear catapult system, doesn't leave a lot of room for weapons. Most of the weapons are located on the "wings," and it has less than half the usual compliment of cannons and missile launchers. The Pandora relies on its MS to provide support on a firefight while it withdraws from the combat zone.

The anti-ZAFT rebellion, the Nephilim, stole the Pandora along with the SXP MS and has since turned it into their flagship. It performs the role in hit-and-away missions flawlessly. It's almost as if ZAFT wanted the Nephilim to steal it...
